Unfortunately, although the locals would like to maintain the old houses that have roof tops like these, our mountains no longer produce enough "cogon" grasses that is fit for roof tops. The locals have to buy metal sheets, and add grass roof tops when they luckily get grasses. for sound proofing and also good for managing the temperature (jinx are too hot at daytime during sunny days and do not trap the heat for use at night time).
